After meeting at the agreed location, we will begin our 4-day tour from Marrakech heading southeast through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2260 m in altitude). Along the way, there will be several stops to admire the spectacular panoramic views of the mountains and to explore the traditional Berber villages.
Next, we visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. This iconic site has served as the backdrop for numerous famous films, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara starring Penélope Cruz. Free time will be provided for lunch in the town.
Afterwards, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as “the Hollywood of Africa,” with a stop for photos at the Atlas Film Studios, the largest in Africa. On the way, we will pass through the Skoura Palm Groves and Roses Valley, enjoying the scenic landscapes dotted with kasbahs. Finally, we arrive at the Dades Valley, where you will spend the night at your hotel or riad.
Day 2: Dades Valley ⇢ Todra Gorges ⇢ Tinjdad ⇢ Erfoud ⇢ Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we depart from Dades Valley toward the Merzouga Desert, traversing landscapes where Berber villages are scattered along the route. We will pass through Tinjdad and Erfoud, entering the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet.
Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll have a short rest before embarking on a camel trek across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. This adventure offers an unparalleled opportunity to photograph the stunning sunset over the Sahara. Dinner and overnight will be in a fully equipped desert camp, complete with Berber drums and traditional music, creating a magical night under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Alnif ⇢ Tazarin ⇢ Draa Valley ⇢ Ouarzazate
Wake up early to watch the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the desert camp. Afterward, ride the camels back to the village where your driver will be waiting.
We will then journey toward Rissani, passing through the historic Ksours and kasbahs of Tafilalet. In Rissani, you can take a walk through the local market and traditional souks to experience the vibrant local culture. From there, we continue through Alnif and Tazarin, crossing the scenic Draa Valley, known for its lush palm groves and ancient kasbahs, before reaching Ouarzazate. Overnight in your hotel or riad.
Day 4: Ouarzazate ⇢ Tizi N’Tichka Pass ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Marrakech
After breakfast, we depart from Ouarzazate, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in Morocco at 2260 meters. Along the route, enjoy the dramatic views of valleys, mountain peaks, and traditional Berber villages nestled in the landscape.
